Exon 3 was disrupted by the insertion of a PGK-neo cassette. The targeted allele putatively encodes a transcript lacking four of seven essential cysteine codons. RT-PCR analysis of total RNA obtained from olfactory turbinates indicated an absence of normal transcript in homozygous mutant embryos. (J:81451)
