The gene was disrupted by replacement of exons 21-28 with a PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Western blot analysis of brain extracts. Immunohistochemical analysis of seminferous tubules from homozygous mutant mice demonstrated absence of protein product in spermatogonia, pachytene spermatocytes, and Sertoli cells. (J:76406)
