The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 3 with a PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination, resulting in deletion of amino acids 27-441. Northern blot analysis of tibia RNA from homozygous animals did not detect transcripts. Immunohistochemistry of tibia sections from homozygous mutant mice confirmed the absence of gene product.
