The gene was disrupted by replacement of exons 5-7 with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression was confirmed by Northern and Western blot analysis. Gene transcript was not detectable in liver RNA from homozygous mutant animals, and protein product was not observed in several tissues tested. (J:80831)
