The endogenous locus was disrupted by a beta-geo cassette inserted immediately downstream of the start codon in exon 1 by homologous recombination. The deleted region included the coding region of exon 1 and approximately 3 kb of intronic sequnence. Transcript was undetected by RT-PCR analysis of homozygous mutant embryos. (J:79560)
