A 4.9 kb genomic fragment containing exons 1 through 4 of the human APOE gene was adjoined to a 690 bp fragment of the human transferrin (TF) gene. RNase protection and Western blot analysis detected epsilon 2 (APOE2) transcript and protein in brain and liver tissues obtained from transgenic mice. Immunohistochemical analysis indicated expression in glial cells (J:78003)
