The chicken Chrna1 promoter was used to drive expression of Torpedo californica (fish) Chrna1 cDNA in muscle tissue. The transgene construct included a spliceable intron and polyadenylation sequences from the rabbit beta globin gene. Only one founder line was generated. Transgene expression was verified by RT-PCR analysis with strong expression observed in muscle tissue. Very low levels of transgene expression was observed in the brain and thymus. (J:80567)
