A transgenic construct was generated by inserting the Prnp open reading frame flanked by loxP sites into a cosmid vector. The regulatory sequences contained within cosmid CosSHaTet drove expression in the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerve, and spleen. Expression levels were determined to be similar to wild-type by semi-quantitative Western blot analysis. (J:74652)
