An Fyn (isoform B) cDNA and Camk2a promoter were used for the transgene. Transgene expression was confirmed in the forebrain of 1-month old transgenic animals by Northern blot and in situ hybridization. Transgenic RNA is expressed at 4 times the level of endogenous Fyn RNA. 8 kb of Camk2a promoter sequences directs transgene expression in postnatal forebrain neurons. (J:80637)
