Region IX, located in the intergenic region between Hoxd11 and Hoxd10, was disrupted by a 7 nt mutation in a nuclear receptor response element (NRRE). A floxed neo cassette that was included in the targeting construct was removed in vitro via cre mediated recombination, leaving a single loxP site downstream of region IX. (J:45706)
