The transgene consists of a fusion between the MMTV-LTR and a genomic Nras sequence from exon 1 to part of exon 6. The MMTV-LTR was used to drive transgene expression. High levels of expression was observed in the salivary gland, mammary gland, and Harderian gland. Intermediate levels of expression was observed in the lung, prostate, testis, and ovary. Low levels of expression was detected in thymus, brain, muscle, skin, bone marrow, kidney, gut, and heart. Transgene expression was verified by Northern blot and RNase protection assay. (J:72258)
