A portion of exon 1 and all of exon 2 was replaced by a hygromycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The insertion deleted sequence encoding the initiator methionine and the trans-activation domain and introduced a frameshift mutation into all reading frames. Transcript was undetected by both RNAse protection and RT-PCR analysis. (J:67993)
