A 3.6 kb fragment containing a portion of exon 2, exons 3 and 4, and a portion of exon 5, was replaced by with a neomycin selection cassette. No transcript was detected in the testes or ovaries of homozygous mutant mice by RT-PCR analysis. Both Western blot analysis and ELISA indicated an absence of endogenous protein in the testes of homozygous mutant mice. (J:66422)
