A 1.1 kb genomic region containing the 5' DNase I hypersensitive site 2 (HS2) was replaced with an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette via homologous recombination. Successful gene targeting was confirmed by Southern blot analysis of mutant animals. (J:28981)
