The transgene is composed of full length canine cardiac calsequestrin cDNA and 135 bp of 5'- and 10 bp of 3'-untranslated sequences fused to the mouse Myhca promoter and an SV40 polyadenylation sequence. The Myhca promoter directs expression of the transgene in the heart. Western blot analysis showed that transgene expression is 10-fold greater compared to endogenous levels. (J:46786)
