The transgenic construct consisted of an Il18 cDNA fragment was adjoined to a human keratin 14 promoter region and rabbit beta-globin intron. The human keratin 14 promoter drives expression in epidermal tissue. Northern blot analysis of showed expression of the construct in the skin, but not in liver, kidney, colon, lung,brain, or spleen.
