The transgene is composed of a cDNA encoding the long form of murine B4galt1, the mouse Mt1 promoter, and human growth hormone 3' polyadenylation sequences. Intron 4 was included in the B4galt1 sequence to increase transgene expression. Expression of long form B4galt1 was verified by RNase protection assay of testes RNA. Transgene expression was also confirmed by enzyme assays, immunoprecipitation enzyme activity, and Western blot analysis. (J:20319)
