The entire coding region of Hoxa3 was replaced with the coding region of the Hoxd3 gene. The 5' and 3' flanking sequences and the intron are those of the Hoxa3 locus. The 3' end of the Hox3d replacement gene was fused to an 11 amino acid c-myc epitope, followed by a self-excising neomycin resistance cassette. Upon removal of the neo cassette a single loxP site is left behind. (J:60296)
