Kirrel1^{Gt(VICTR20)20Lex}

A gene trap vector consisting of LTR sites flanking a beta-geo cassette containing a splice acceptor and a PGK-puromycin resistance cassette containing a splice donor integrated into the intron immediately downstream of the first coding exon. Northern blot analysis of kidney RNA confirmed the absence of normal transcript in homozygous mutant mice. Expression of Beta-geo was detected and putatively driven by the endogenous promoter. While expression from the internal PGK promoter was detected in ES cells, allowing for the identification of the disrupted gene, it was undetected by both Northern blot and RT-PCR analyses of RNA derived from mice.
