The 3' portion of exon 2 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The deleted region encoded transmembrane domains 4 through 6 and the splice donor site. Transcript was undetected in kidney and testes tissue by Northern blot and RT-PCR analyses of homozygous mutant mice. (J:78925)
