Exon 2 was replaced by a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Normal transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by Northern blot analysis of testicular RNA. Western blot analysis showed that only the neomycin protein, and not the normal protein, was produced from the disrupted allele. (J:78930)
