The gene was disrupted by insertion of an in-frame lacZ-neo cassette into exon 1. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Western blot analysis of lung tissue. X-gal staining showed that lacZ reporter expression is directed by regulatory elements of the targeted gene. (J:65133)
