Cosmid clone cos.6I/LnJ-4 carrying mouse gene Prnp was used for the transgene. The cosmid Prnp sequence is derived from inbred strain I/LnJ, which carries the Prnpb allele (valine residue at position 189). Expression of the transgene was verified by RT-PCR analysis of transgenic animals. (J:11316)
