The exon specific to the E12 isoform was disrupted by the insertion of a neomycin selection cassette. RT-PCR analysis showed the presence of an aberrant transcript that included neo. Normal E12 transcript was not detected. Further analysis showed that the aberrant splicing affected downstream splicing, resulting in reduced levels of E47 transcript. (J:79163)
