This transgene expresses cre recombinase under the control of the dopachrome tautomerase promoter, active in pigment cells. Two lines (3469 and 3510) were crossed to reporter animals and analyzed further. Data for 3469 is shown in the original reference, but this line died out due to disease and line 3510 was continued. Only some line 3510 animals expressed the transgene sufficiently to allow detection of recombinase activity, and it was further determined that the line is a germ-line deleter strain. (J:79094)
