The exon encoding amino acids 1 through 362 and common to all known isoforms produced from the endogenous locus was replaced by a neomycin selection cassette inserted via homologous recombination. Western blot analyses using antibodies for both amino and carboxy terminals showed protein levels in heterozygous mutant mice to be approximately half of the wild-type levels. (J:62174)
