The coding region of the gene was deleted and replaced with a GFP-neo-loxP cassette via homologous recombination. The targeted mutation places the green fluorescent protein gene under the control of the endogenous promoter. RT-PCR analysis of mouse embryonic fibroblasts derived from homozygous mutant animals verified the absence of Ifnb expression and presence of GFP transcripts. (J:61048)
