A floxed neo cassette was excised from Gopctm1Tno by the in vivo expression of cre recombinase. A lacZ gene remained in place of exons 2, 2b, and 3. Neither of the two protein isoforms produced by the endogenous locus were detected in homozygous mutant mice by Western blot and immunohistochemical analyses. (J:78599)
