Exons 1 and 2 were replaced with a cassette containing lacZ and neo genes. Transcript was undetected by quantitative RT-PCR of heart and lung tissue obtained from homozygous mutant mice. Neither Western blot analysis nor immunostaining detected protein in homozygous mutant mice. (J:78603)
