The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 2 with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Exon 2 encodes the entire C-terminal domain of the protein. Homozygous mutant animals lack gene expression as demonstrated by Northern blot analysis of liver RNA using a probe to the C-terminal region of the gene. (J:61788)
