The gene was disrupted by insertion of an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) gene and a PGK-neo cassette into exon 2 via homologous recombination. RT-PCR did not detect gene expression in adrenal glands of homozygous mutant animals. In addition, brain membranes from homozygous mutants showed no desipramine-binding activity. (J:59663, J:61825)
