Exons 1 through 3 were replaced by a cassette containing an IRES-beta-galactosidase and neo fusion gene. RT-PCR and flow cytometric analyses of skin fibroblasts confirmed the absence of normal transcript and the lack of protein surface expression in homozygous mutant mice. X-gal staining was not reported. (J:67007)
