Exons 9 and 10, which encode amino acids 263 through 384 encompassing most of the ligand binding domain, were left flanked by loxP sites after the in vitro cre-mediated excision of a selection cassette. Both isoforms produced by the endogenous gene were detected in homozygous mutant mice, verifying that the presence of the loxP sites did not affect gene function. (J:75134)
