The gene was tagged by insertion of an IRES-GFP-floxed neo cassette 3' to the stop codon. Transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells removed the floxed neo cassette prior to blastocyst injection. Immunofluorescence was observed in mature olfactory sensory neurons of mutant animals. (J:64893)
