This transgene utilized 8.4 kb of 5' untranslated sequence encompassing regulatory elements of the brown adipose tissue specific Ucp1 promoter. In addition to the promoter, a portion of exon 3 and all of exons 4, 5, and 6 from the Ucp1 gene were inserted downstream of the cre recombinase transgene. (J:72231)
