A portion of exon 1, encoding the first 72 amino acids, was replaced via the insertion of the enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) and a floxed neo cassette. Expression of EGFP was undetected, putatively due to the presence of the neo cassette. The deleted region corresponded to that in the conventionally targeted Hoxa2tm1Ipc. (J:75129)
