The gene was disrupted by insertion of a PGK-neo cassette into exon 2 via homologous recombination. Loss of gene expression was observed in homozygous mutant animals by RT-PCR analysis of antral mucosa samples using primers to exons 1 and 3. Protein product was undetectable in plasma from homozygous mutants. (J:77985)
