A 3' region of exon 2, which encodes a portion of the kinase domain, was deleted by the in frame insertion of a cassette containing lacZ along with neo. The absence of both known isoforms encoded by the endogenous locus was confirmed by Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant mouse embyronic fibroblasts. (J:78190)
