Sequence analysis of cloned RT-PCR products comprising the entire coding region of the agouti locus showed no mutations; however, no regulatory sequences were investigated. Northern analysis showed agouti mRNA expression levels in skin of neonates homozygous for this allele to be significantly less than in wild-type controls. (J:75206)
