Sequence analysis of cloned RT-PCR products comprising the entire coding region of the agouti locus showed that a10J involves a single nucleotide change from A to T at the splice-acceptor site in exon 4. mRNA expression from this allele was reduced more than 2.9-fold. (J:75206)
