The insertion of a neomycin selection cassetted deleted a region of exon 1 encoding 59 amino acids and including the splicing donor site. Transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice via RT-PCR analysis. Western blot analysis of protein extracts obtained from various organs confirmed the absence of the 3 known isoforms produced from the endogenous locus. (J:47664)
