Part of exon 43, exon 44, and part of exon 45 were replaced with a neomycin resistance cassette in the reverse orientation via homologous recombination. The gene targeting event introduces a stop codon into exon 43. The mutant allele was confirmed in heterozygous and homozygous animals by Northern blot analysis. (J:68331)
