The transgenic construct was generated by inserting sequence encoding NLS-cre recombinase into a BAC encompassing the 5' portion of the murine Otog gene. Otog is endogenously expressed in the inner ear. Cre was flanked upstream by the Otog promoter and UTR of exon 1 and downstream by the coding region of exon 1 and all of exon 2. (J:77823)
