A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 2. While normal transcript was absent, truncated message was detected in homozygous mutant mice via RT-PCR analysis. Neither normal protein nor protein encoded by the truncated transcript was detected by Western blot analysis, using antibodies directed against the amino and carboxy termini. (J:38206)
