The targeted mutation is a derivative of Vdrtm1Gcm. Exon 2 was deleted by crossing animals carrying Vdrtm1Gcm to a cre-expressing line. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was demonstrated by RT-PCR analysis of duodenum, kidney, and bone tissue. (J:72578)
