This allele was generated by transient transfection of ES cells harboring Ktntm1Kpf with a cre expression plasmid. The excision of neomycin was mediated by the expression of cre, leaving exons 3 through 5 flanked by loxP sites. Encoded protein was detected in homozygous mutant mice via Western blot analysis.
