A neomycin selection cassette replaced sequences encoding the first two and a portion of the third zinc-finger domain. RT-PCR analysis of RNA from mutant embryos revealed the presence of an amino-terminal fragment, truncating 39 base pairs downstream of the 5' insertion point. The truncated transcript lacks sequence encoding 3 zinc-finger domains and the acidic, proline-rich, and serine/threonine-rich regions. (J:19100, J:48216)
