Exons 2 and 3, which include the translation initiation site, were replaced with a PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was demonstrated by Northern blot analysis of kidney RNA using a cDNA probe to exon 4. (J:70594)
