A GFP reporter gene was introduced in frame into to exon 1 at amino acid 62 followed by a loxP-flanked PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination. The insertion causes a frameshift in the homeobox of the gene. Homozygous mutant newborn animals did not express protein product. (J:56498)
