Brca1^tm2.1Cxd

This allele, lacking exon 11, was generated by crossing mice heterozygous for Brca1tm2Cxd with transgenic mice expressing the cre recombinase gene via the EIIa promoter which is active in germ cells. Northern blot analysis of homozygous mutant embryos indicated an absence of full length transcript. Transcript lacking exon 11 was detected in both wild-type and mutant embryos, though the levels were increased in homozygous mutant embyros. (J:70271)
